Oh! I’ve just realised that Bodie wasn’t directing Doyle to the opposite side of the car in this scene from Backtrack because they planned to sit in the back together. It was because Doyle was probably planning to sit in the passenger seat all along. And Bodie couldn’t let that happen because he wanted to be next to him.

Oh Bodie, Doyle may not be able to see you, but everyone else can.

As if the idea of Bodie telling their girlfriends that he and Doyle are gay and planning to elope isn’t enough. Then they bicker about who would get the worst end of the deal if they actually were to get married like an, er, old married couple. Not to mention the fact that Bodie seems perfectly fine with the concept of marrying a man in general…

Just before Bodie goes to tell their girlfriends that they’ve turned gay and run off to get married. No, seriously.

Also jothehat noticed that the married scene was supposed to be included in the actual episode, not just written specifically for the novel.

Is Cowley implying that Bodie’s such a womaniser that he’ll never settle down? Or is he letting Bodie know he’s onto him?

Spoiler alert: he always does.
